Rudraneel Chattopadhyay is the Coordinator of the India National Platform on Private Sustainability Standards, and is responsible for overall institutional, governance and functional affairs of the Platform. He is also the Coordinator of the International Convention on Sustainable Trade and Standards. His work involves identifying ways in which Sustainable Development Goals in India could be achieved through standards compliance by businesses, producers and smallholders, and facilitating subsequent stakeholder consultations, policymaking and implementation. He alsorepresents the National Platform at international knowledge sharing forums regarding India’s experience with sustainability standards.
Mr. Chattopadhyay is a Young India Fellow, with a background in law, public policy, liberal arts, international relations, legislative research and fundamentals of business. He is trained in managing global governance at the German Development Institute, and in international cooperation and diplomacy at the International Futures programme of the Foreign Service Academy, Federal Foreign Office, Germany. His core research interests include international affairs, negotiation and global agenda-setting through simulations of the UN and other multilateral frameworks. His publications examine key areas of public policy, law, advocacy skills, human rights, trade, sustainable development and education.
