Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy for the India PSS Platform QCIbsite and the ICSTS Microsite of the Quality Council of India

Instructions/T&Cs for Registration Form:

  1. Please fill all details in the form carefully. These details will be frozen and you will not be allowed to change them later.
  2. In case of individual registration, you will be asked to choose days for which you wish to register.
  3. In case of an organization, you get an all access two-day delegate pass.
  4. You will be asked to choose days for which you wish to book hotel accommodation. The Convention Secretariat will be booking the accommodation on your behalf at Andaz Delhi. These bookings are done in a consolidated fashion on the first Friday after you register and complete payment.
  5. You will be asked to pay the consolidated amount for registration and hotel immediately
  6. Please refer to the dashboard on the left side of the page to check your details, payment options, delegate pass, hotel booking options (if you haven’t already booked), blogging rights, gallery and notifications.
  7. As a policy, no cancellation is allowed. No refund will be provided under any circumstance.
  8. Due to security reasons, conference passes are not transferable under any circumstance.


Quality Council of India (QCI) through its programmes India National Platform on Private Sustainability Standards (India PSS Platform) and International Convention on Sustainable Trade and Standards (ICSTS) housed in the Project Analysis and Documentation Division (PAD Division) declares firm commitment to privacy and data protection. QCI follows strict ethics, code & conduct, practices and principles in accordance with universal norms for patron confidentiality and information safeguard.

QCI shall not vend away or give away or disseminate user name, postal address, phone number, email address or any other information to any person whatsoever unless authorized by User with the methods of the website or by any written form, and QCI shall never release user information to any other companies or third parties for marketing purposes.

QCI use and shall keep using security measures comparable to extensively efficient online financial or net banking practices/systems to shield user information from unlawful, unauthorized, unconstitutional users.

By accepting the Privacy Policy and the User Agreement in registration, User expressly consent to our use and disclosure of user personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into and subject to the terms of the User Agreement. This Privacy Policy is effective upon acceptance in registration for new registering users, and is otherwise effective on 22nd November 2012 for all users.


Quality Council of India is an autonomous body set up by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Indian Industry, based in 2nd Floor, Institution of Engineers Building, 2, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi – 110002. In this Privacy Policy, references to the “User” mean any person submitting any data to us (QCI) through our website. In the context of the India PSS Platform website and the ICSTS microsite, QCI is engaged in not for profit activities relating to providing information on sustainability standards, and for facilitating registration and payment towards participation and accommodation of individuals and organisations for the ICSTS. Hereby in the whole privacy policy a service will be implying “Service(s)” as mentioned and construed in the Terms of Services. Expressions and terminology herein are in line and in accordance with the Terms of Services.

Data protection is a matter of trust and user privacy is important to us. QCI shall therefore only use user’s name and other information which relates to user in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy. QCI will only collect information where it is necessary for us to do so and we will only collect information if it is relevant to our dealings with user.

QCI will only keep user information for as long as it is either required to by law or as is relevant for the purposes for which it was collected.

When user uses the website or service(s), certain basic information regarding the location and the internet protocol address of the user, et al gets traced to the website and the servers. Such transference is absolutely of benign nature and is utmost secure.


QCI may collect various kinds of information if a user seeks a service provided by QCI through the Site.

QCI collects, stores and processes user data for processing user subscription and registration on the site. Following due process, QCI may collect user’s title, name, sex, email address, postal address, billing address (if different), telephone number, mobile number, fax number, payment details, or bank account details.

QCI need this information in order to allow user to go ahead with availing the services. QCI may pass user’s name and address on to third-party vendors in order to make delivery of the product or information to the user. QCI may also use users’ data in order to manage the Site, collect payment from user, enable users to subsequently use parts of the Site, detect any fraud or Site abuses. Payments that user will make through the Site will be processed by our Company which is registered in Gujarat, India.

User must inform us of any changes by informing our representatives, company or the site.

User’s actual order details may be stored with us and user may access this information by logging into user’s personal account provided on the Site. User undertakes to treat the personal access data confidentially and not make it available to unauthorized third parties. QCI cannot assume any liability for misuse of passwords unless this misuse is our fault.

QCI shall not share any of user’s personal information with third parties without user’s explicit consent. QCI view protection of user privacy as a very important community principle. QCI understand clearly that user and user’s Information is one of our most important assets. QCI may use third parties to verify and certify our privacy principles. If a user objects to his/her Information being transferred or used in this way please do not use the site.

Under no circumstances does QCI rent, trade or share user personal information that have been collected with any other company for their marketing purposes without user consent. QCI reserves the right to communicate user personal information to any third party that makes a legally-compliant request for its disclosure.


If User chooses to post messages on QCI blog, message boards, chat rooms or other message areas or leave feedback for other users, QCI shall collect that information User provides to it. QCI retains this information as necessary to resolve disputes, provide customer support and troubleshoot problems as permitted by law.

If User sends QCI personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about user activities or postings on the Site, QCI may collect such information into a file specific to User.


QCI uses standard and authorized payment services and our Credit Check and Fraud Prevention policies are aligned to the companies that are monitoring the method of payment. All disputes would be handled by courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India.

QCI may further anonymize data about users of the Site generally and use it for various purposes, including ascertaining the general location of the users and usage of certain aspects of the Site or a link contained in an email to those registered to receive them, and supplying that anonymized data to third parties such as publishers. However, that anonymized data will not be capable of identifying the user personally; and such sharing of anonymized data shall be subject to absolute confidentiality and professional purposes with no intent and chance of personal information disclosure.


QCI may pass user details to other companies in our group. QCI may also pass user details to our agents and subcontractors to help us with any of our uses of user data set out in our Privacy Policy. For example, QCI may use third parties vendors to assist it with delivering services to user, to help collect payments from user, to analyze data and to provide us with marketing or customer service assistance. QCI may exchange information with third parties for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction. Other than as set out in this Privacy Policy, QCI shall NOT sell or disclose users’ personal data to third parties without obtaining user prior consent unless this is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy or unless it is required to do so by law. The Site may contain advertising of third parties and links to other sites or frames of other sites. Please be aware that QCI shall not be responsible for the privacy practices or content of those third parties or other sites, nor for any third party to whom we transfer user data in accordance with our Privacy Policy.


The acceptance of cookies is not a requirement for visiting the Site. However we would like to point out that the some functionality on the Site and ordering is only possible with the activation of cookies. Cookies are tiny text files which identify user computer to our server as a unique user when user visits certain pages on the Site and they are stored by user Internet browser on user’s computer’s hard drive. Cookies can be used to recognize user’s Internet Protocol address, saving user time while user are on, or want to enter, the Site. QCI only use cookies for user convenience in using the Site (for example to remember who the user are when user want to amend user’s shopping cart without having to re-enter user’s email address) and not for obtaining or using any other information about user (for example targeted advertising). User browser can be set to not accept cookies, but this would restrict user to use of the Site. The cookies enable recognition of the Internet browser. The data collected with these technologies is not used, without separate authorization by the person concerned, to personally identify the visitors to this website and is not collated with personal data on the pseudonym holder. The permission for data recording and storage may at any time be cancelled with on-going effect.


QCI have in place appropriate technical and security measures to prevent unauthorized or unlawful access to or accidental loss of or destruction or damage to user information. When QCI collects data through the Site, QCI collects user’s personal details on a secure server. QCI uses firewalls on its servers. Users are strongly recommended not to send full credit or debit card details in unencrypted electronic communications with us. QCI maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in connection with the collection, storage and disclosure of user information. QCI’s security procedures mean that it may occasionally request proof of identity before disclosing personal information to user. Users are responsible for protecting against unauthorized access to user password and to user computer.


QCI cooperate with law enforcement and regulatory inquiries, as well as other third parties to enforce laws, such as: intellectual property rights, fraud and other rights, to help protect User and the community from bad actors. Therefore, in response to a verified request by law enforcement or other government officials relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, QCI can (and User has given deemed authorization to QCI to) disclose user name, city, state, telephone number, email address, User ID history, fraud complaints, and bidding and listing history without a subpoena. Without limiting the above, in an effort to respect user privacy and our ability to keep the community free from bad actors, QCI will not otherwise disclose user personal information to law enforcement or other government officials without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when QCI believes in good faith that the disclosure of information is necessary to prevent imminent physical harm or financial loss; or report suspected illegal activity. Further, QCI can (and User authorizes us to) disclose user name, street address, city, state, zip code, country, phone number, email, and company name to Intellectual Property Right’s owners under confidentiality agreement, as QCI in our sole discretion believe necessary or appropriate in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringement, piracy, or other unlawful activity.


By submitting data to us or our agent or using the Site, the user consents to agreement of the Terms and also of agreement to our use of user data in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.
